Comprehensive Guide To Build A Website

There are two ways by which you can build your website. Either through a website builder or WordPress. Both ways are excellent, it depends on you, which way will be suitable according to your needs. If you have technical knowledge about building a website then I will recommend you WordPress. But if you are not good with technical jargon then building a website through a website builder will be much easier. Website building according to your needs and customization can be a time taking process.

Here, I will give you a comprehensive guide to building a website through a website builder, so you don’t have to waste your time figuring out what to do and what not to do.

  1. Choosing a suitable website builder

Website builder provides you with ready-to-go templates and drag-and-drop features so you don’t have to face technical barriers and you can start putting content on your website right on. Working on a website builder may be easy but choosing a website builder suitable for you can be a hard job. There are so many website builders that a newbie gets confused that which one is the best.

If you see the data Wix, Squarespace, Weebly, and Shopify to name a few are the most popular website builders on the internet. Wix provides you with a drag and drop feature which makes website customization easy. Squarespace has a large variety of attractive templates which may suit your website. If you are building an eCommerce website then Shopify will be the best option. If you want to do blogging then I will suggest wordpress.com. Look around and see what your priorities are.

  1. Select a plan according to your needs

Every service provider has at least 3 different plans. There are many website builders that also provide a free plan. From my own experience, I can tell you that a free plan can be a good start for learning but if you are serious about your website then spending some money will give you long-term benefits. Now how to choose a plan? Squarespace has four plans,

  • A 14-day free trial, so you can test your website and see if it’s worth it.

  • Personal – $16/month

  • Business – $23/month

  • Basic Commerce – $27/month

  • Advanced Commerce – $49/month

If you are building a personal website, go with a personal plan, if you are building an e-commerce website, go with an advanced commerce plan.

Same with other website builders like Wix, Weebly, Shopify etc, Weebly provides some cheap plans, so you can go with them if your budget is low now.

  1. Create an eye-catching domain name

Domain name matters a lot when you are advertising your business. People remember unique and short domain names, so more chance they will come back to your website.  So how to create a catchy and unique domain name? Remember these points in mind while creating a domain name.-

  • The domain name should be concise

  • It should be unique

  • It should be relevant to your content

  • Don’t use symbols and numbers

  1. Select and customize a template for your website

Now that we have decided what our domain name should be, there is the customization of your website.

That’s on you what you want your site to look like. My suggestions are

  •  Don’t overdo it, keep it simple and minimalistic.

  •  Add social media links.

  • Change font style and sizes as you want it.

  • Use high-quality images with proper colour choice as background.

  1. Upload your content and publish your website

Well now that the website is finally complete, upload your content and publish the website.

Content should be plagiarism free. Plagriasied content is not promoted by Google. You should share your website on every social media platform.

Conclusion

Website is easy to make and helps you in many ways. Many people think it’s very technical but with the help of website builders, it’s easy.  I hope I was able to help you clear all your doubts and build a beautiful website. Thanks.
